Czernowitzers...
As reported by several SIGs and on FB, BIG NEWS for genealogists: FAMILY SEARCH MICROFILMS ARE NOW ONLINE AVAILABLE! This is a breakthrough, not to be understimated at all.
All of the FamilySearch microfilms of material that originally came from Ukraine (formerly on physical microfilm, now scanned as digital images) are now totally free (registration required) and unrestricted to view FROM YOUR HOME. They are no longer limited to “visible only within a Family History Center”. As an example, here’s the FamilySearch catalog entry for the 1856-1940 Jewish Metrical books for Czernowitz:

It still displays the little “camera with a lock and key” icon next to the item, indicating that it has restrictions as to who can view it and where. But as of today, that icon is now outdated. If you click it, you can see the whole film, all the images and/or take a screen shot right from home.
Just to be clear: This is not new data or new books. But the data FamilySearch have had for years, until now restricted to the members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, is now available from home, not just sitting in one of the FamilySearch centers. There is so much more to be discovered, as f. i. the Czernowitz Jewish Congregation Public Records for the years 1780 - 1937 (!):
