Dear Berti, Edgar, Ron and Leonid,
afaik the house in the Herrengasse was the office of the Israelitische =
Kultusgemeinde (official jewish community) since the Oberrabbinat (chief =
rabbinate) at Chereskul Gasse was closed for legal reasons =
(reorganization of the jewish communities at latest with the =
Israelitengesetz (law for the jews) from 1890).
The building Edgar marked out could not be, because this one was build =
in the (early) soviet-period. Before there were wooden houses. I think =
it was the house on the opposite side of the street (today yellow): =

This house has a side-entrance wich was next to the Cantors entrance of =
the Temple.
