In answer to both Nina and Cornel and any others who were offended by
my previous letter.
I grew up in Israel and the term"davka" is very well known to me from
those years as well
as from Czernowitz Yiddish. I have no objection to anyone visiting
Vienna or any other
place they choose. That is why I told of my own visit to Vienna. Nor do
I discriminate
against some people, or advise anyone else to do so. But we belong to
this group because
of our interest in Czernowitz and the Bukovina. Therefore that is where
we should meet.
Bruce Reisch is of course correct, that we should and could meet
wherever it is convenient
for some of us. But I, and I believe some others, would feel very
strange arranging to meet
Jewish Czernowitzers in Vienna.
Possibly I wanted to distance myself and Czernowitz from Vienna, more
than is historically correct.
I seems I did step on some toes, sorry.
All the best to all of you, Mimi
