Dear friends,

Please note the message I have just received from my contact in Vienna,
after I listed all the hotels as everyone suggested.

Here is the definitive reply! As soon as I receive the offer from Hotel
Stefanie,- the one recommended in a travel book I have as being central,
plus everyone in the Vienna community apparently uses it for all their
occasions, but which I could not get a booking for on the internet,- I
shall make the tentative reservations for all the people who respond
positively.

Because of my own proposed travel itinerary next year, I am looking at
one week earlier,-end of May in Vienna, to allow us then to proceed to
Czernowitz beginning of June,- for those intending to do so. We need
about 5 days for Vienna & surrounds and approx. the same for Czernowitz
(or 7?),- then it will be up to everyone to decide whether they want to
join the 10-12 day tour to Romania still and beyond back to Vienna or
return home directly.

The only info. I don't have, is the no. of persons to share each room in
Vienna. So please reply to me if you intend to be one or two people per
room so that we can give them an idea of the no. of doubles and singles
required. Obviously it will have to be only tentative at this stage.

Thanks and regards.

Malvina M.

Dear Malvina,

I just talked to Ms. Sabine Pollak at the reservation center of the
Hotel Stefanie.. she will directly write an offer to you.... if you
reserve now, it is still not too late!
however, the reason for the urgency: the weekend of May 25 28 is almost
the busiest
weekend of the year, as being a long weekend(christian holiday on May
25) very many
tourists are coming....
But they still can accomodate you...I told them appr. 20 25 rooms..
yours,
Gerda

p.s. this is the best of all the hotels you mentioned!

Dear Gerda,
Thank you very much for your prompt reply. It is very kind of you to
offer to help me with this.
I really don't know what price-range the group is willing to accept,-
but I suppose that anything between (Euros) 80-150 would be considered
modest by European standards,- cheap by American ones probably and
average for us! The hotels which have been mentioned to me are as
follows: Hotel Stefanie (Best Western);Hotel Schweitzerhoff, where we
have stayed; Hotel Michael, Gerasdorf ; parkring_at_schick-hotel.com;the
latter was apparently only some $60, very good position,- so that may be
even better, although we would need some facilities for us to have a
meeting, perhaps a private dining room. "Pension Domizil" vienna1010,
14 schulerstrasse ph.43.1.5133199 /or 43.1.5133093 is another
suggestion.

I have just received a faxed reply also from the Jewish Welcome Service
and they suggest the Stefanie.
My problem is that when I contacted them through the internet they
claimed not to have vacancies at that time of the year! Being 12 months
ahead, I wondered whether it is for real or that it is too early for
them to take bookings.

Sorry to put you to so much trouble. I suppose we would need about
20rooms,- mostly doubles I think, but some singles,- it is too early for
me to know exactly. More people seem to be interested to join us, daily!

With thanks and best regards,
Malvina M.
