Dear friends,
I just met a local list-member's parents today and they were very
excited about joining us next year. She too heard from her mother many
happy stories about Vienna, so she is looking forward to seeing it for
the first time.
In addition, because quite a few list-members seem to live in Israel
and Haifa in particular and as Luba and Charlie German intend to start
their tour in Israel in early May, I have suggested to Haifa University
with whom I am in contact to host a meeting for the local Bukoviner
group during that time. I received an expression of interest but further
discussions will have to wait until after the holidays.
If any local list member would like to follow it up directly, my reply
came from:
A. M. Goldstein,Editor, Focus, University of Haifa,Tel.:

This note came from my Vienna friends:
Dear Malvina,
just a short note.... please tell your friends who are reluctant to come
to Vienna that
Vienna has one of the most vibrant Jewish communities in all of Europe,
and all this
With only 7.ooo registered Jews and about 4.000 unregistered..(at the
Jewish community).
Yes, there is antisemitism, although almost nobody is feeling it... but
unfortunately,
there are very few places in Europe..and most of all in former Eastern
Europe--that
are less antisemitic. Austria has one of the strictest anti-nazi laws
in the world!!
This info is just to help you persuade some hesitant people.
I hope you are already in contact with the Hotel Stefanie--- time is
running..

N.B. the last item! Keep the info.coming!
