Mahala was a village east from Czernowitz on the other (left)
site of the Pruth. About in the same distance as Sadagora and
today maybe a part of Czernowitz.
Population 1900: In 478 houses lived 2167 persons (2015
romanians (mainly farmers), 99 jews and some various).
There was a railway-station, a post-office since 1899 and a
primary school.

Best wishes,
Peter
