Many thanks to Arthur for the current map of Chernivtsi.
Are there any volunteers who would be willing to transcribe the
Ukrainian street names to the Latin alphabet?
I managed to identify certain buildings and landmarks and their
corresponding names and locations on the map of 1941,
Stadtplan von Czernowitz. They are:

Yellow area #8, #12 and #13 with red crosses is the area of the
"Krankenhaus" the hospital for nervous disorders in quadrant Ej.

#12 is the memorial to Paul Celan at the corner of what used to be
Strada Stefan cel Mare and the short street leading to Strada Cronicarul
Neculce in quadrant Eg.

Just above this area, on the right side of the major street is the school
which was the Yiddish school in which Arthur and I were in the same class;
one month first grade, one year second grade. To the right, the short
street parallel to Str. Stefan cel Mare and between Str. Rasboleni and
Str. Mararesti is the street on which Arthur Hecht, possibly Jerry and I
used to toboggan.

The hotel Bukovyna is marked H3 in red, the hotel Cheremosh, further south
Is marked H5 in red.

The Ringplatz is unfortunately in two separate quadrants in this map.
To the left and slightly above the Ringplatz is the building which used to
be "Der Tempel", marked #1 in red on the current map.
