Hello all,

As we are going to meet next year in a town we
are looking for memories, but also will try for
some present achievements, may be

"Czernowitz Past and Present" is a good name.

For the different points, I have no too strong feelings, but prefer:

.1. Organized tour or walk of Czernowitz, with "old timers" comparing
  the present and the past.
  Yes.

  2. May 19, Evening - Kabbalat Shabbat service at the Synagogue
No.

  3. Social get-together in order that we get to know each other and
  our connection to Czernowitz.
Sure

  4. Walking tour of the Jewish section of town.
Jews lived in all parts of the town except the
new southern quarters that inter alia include the
hotel Ceremush. I hope we will stay at the
Bucovina that is at walking distance to all
“Jewish Sections”.
  Yes.
   5. Discussion about Czernowitz’s different Jewish identities.
    Of course.
  6. Meeting with the current Jewish inhabitants of Chernivtsi.
  Yes.
  7. Czernowitz walks in small groups of people who share a particular
interest. Some of these are: The theatre, the university, the
       Herz-Jesu church and other churches.
   Yes.

To all who have addresses in any language – I can
easily put that on the plan we have as I have
already done with mine) – just send that address
and name to me privately berti_at_netvision.net.il,
but please not before October 15 , I am not at
home in Haifa until that date.

  8. A panel of survivors to be asked questions of
their experiences and memories. Survivors
presenting their testimonies.
Of course I am ready to remember and share.

  9. A dinner with the Mayor and members of the local Jewish
community, a festival with music and entertainment, a wonderful
party.
If there is a chance to advance the cemetery project – yes.

  10. Visit with the participation of the Mayor
and Dignitaries to the Jewish cemetery and the
monument to the 400 men shot by the Germans.

If there is a chance to advance the cemetery project – yes.

11. Visit to the Jewish cemetery and the monument to the 400 men
shot in 1941, saying Kadish, WITHOUT INVITING THE MAYOR AND OR
  THE DIGNITARIES.
  Prefer 10.

  12. Meeting with the mayor and possibly his
staff, to discuss our concern over the state
of the cemetery and it's possible restoration.
Yes

  13. Lectures by historians, political scientists and psychologists
about our shared interest and heritage.
  Sure

14. Lecture and discussion about the culture of Czernowitz in different
    periods.
  Sure

15. Organized visit to the archives, (this may not be possible, they
may not allow entrance to large groups).

Yes –I will spend a lot of time there to advance a project I work on..

  16. "End of tour" meeting to reflect on what we saw and what we
         felt.

Yes

  17. Would other list members be interested in sharing in the cost of
having a video made of some of these events which
we could then purchase individually?

I am game, hopefully that video shooting will not interfere too much.
