Dear Mimi and all the others,

I want to tell you that the programme celebrating
Traian Popovici here in Romania was a real
success. The mediating of the event was as we
expected. They began to understand (although not
everyone) that this man deserves to be known.

I was expecting you to ask me about the event
which was the first of this type in Romania, if
we think of the fact that there were many
representatives of Jewish organizations. But Cora
told you more about this event.

I'm interested in the plaque problem now. I want
to tell you that I dared the Town Hall there in
Czernovitzi on this matter. In fact, the activity
in Fundu Moldovei and Campulung continued in
Czernovitsi the next day, where our
Romanian-Jewish delegation was received by the
secretary of the Town Hall. We had the
opportunity to talk about Traian Popovici, the
Romanian council asking diplomatically the
permission for the Romanian to appear on the
plague. I want to assure you that the Consulate
wants to be involved in this action in order to
contribute to the arising of the interest towards
Traian Popovici in this town.

If you want I can send you the council email
address if you want that your activity to be
well-heard.

Also, I talked to one of the town councils, who
is a Jew! I also can give you his address.

Another important thing was our meeting with Mr.
Bursuc, who confirmed that would take care of the
plague problem. For our entire group (35 persons)
it was a pleasure to have the conversation with
him about Traian Popovici.

I don't want me or my association to interfere
without your permission in that matter which
belongs to you. But I want to help you with the
mediating of the moment of the plaque. In this
regard it is very important for those institutes
or organizations that understood the real
importance of Traian Popovici to get involved.
But, after all, it's your decisionŠ

My role was to trouble the waters here in
RomaniaŠ.And we succeeded somehow...If you
consider you can join us, those from Romania, we
are waiting for youŠ

Have a nice day.

Florentin

P.S. We met a teacher at the university in
Czernovitzi. He said he would try to organize a
symposium about Traian Popovici, at the Faculty
of Phylology. You see, that is why it is
important that the unveiling of the plaque should
involve other people who think rightŠ
