Dear Florentin and members of the Czernowitz-List,

I am very glad that the Romanian celebrations in honor
of Traian Popovici were successful. I hope he will be
honored and remembered for many generations. I did not ask
about the event, because I was very busy with family matters.

The final plaque design, which includes the Romanian inscription,
and all the other necessary information, has now been submitted
to the city committee which needs to approve it. I do not know
the date of the next meeting of this committee, but it probably
is not later than mid-November.

I very much hope that the memorial plaque to Traian Popovici,
will be approved and placed on the building in which he lived.
He was a decent righteous and kind human being and should serve
as an example to all people, irrespective of their nationality.
But quite honestly, I do not want to be involved in any
Romanian - Ukrainian disputes, political or otherwise.

Please Florentin, do not yourself, or the Romanian consul,
get involved in this project.
I do not want this to be a political matter, nor do I want it
to be used for political purposes.

The city council of Chernivtsi has approved the general proposal
to have a memorial plaque to Traian Popovici and I hope they will
include the Romanian inscription a a sign of goodwill to all people,
but this should not be the possible reason for further disputes.

Sincerely,

Mimi
