Re: [Cz-L] again from Romania about Traian Popovici

Dear Florentin and members of the Cz.-List.

Please be assured that I have no anti-Romanian sentiments in regard
to the memorial plaque for Traian Popovici. I believe that at this time
the relationships between Romania and the Ukraine are strained.
May the disputes between the two countries be, whatever they are,
I do not want to take sides.
I also do not want the memorial plaque to Popovici, to be a possible
cause for further disputes. This plaque is intended to honor one man
because he was a decent honest and kind person. His being Romanian,
should not make any difference for the better or the worse.

Please notice that I also have not involved either the USA government,
nor the Israeli government, despite the fact that many of those saved
are now citizens of both these countries.
  
The city of Chernivtsi has it's regulations for the placing of plaques
in public places. I believe to now have complied with all of them
and hope to receive the authorization to place the plaque
on the appropriate building, in the very near future.
