The idea of regaining possesion and restoring the "Tempel" is something
I have been thinking for a long time and I am glad that it now is a =
theme
for discusion in our group. Hardy is right on his estimate of cost that =
is
beyond our group's means. But the Germans burned it and the Russians
(the inheritors of the Soviets)have transformed it in to a cinema. Maybe
we should appeal to theese governments? The Ukrainean government
and the local authorities would profit from a historical monument
restored as a museum of a proud past of the city of Czernivtsi by
atracting tourist. If the Jewish community regained also possesion of =
=
the Jewish building on the teatralnaia ploshchad the rent from =
these =
offices could pay for the maintenance of the Temple Museum. ( am =
I not alowed to dream?)
