In 1648 the Cossaks of the Ukraine revolted and massacred 100,000 Jews
who served as tax-collectors for the Polish occupiers .
How did they come to this round figure ?
Well it is an estimate . A Jew more or less do not count.
   Unless that Jew is you.
Now , new studies have been made and the new estimate is down to 50,000
!
A stone came off my chest.
Khmelnitzky is very much respected in the Ukraine .
There is a Rayon (that is a district ) and a big city carries his
         name.
Statues of Khmelnitzky on horse are to be found in all major cities.
Because he gave back the honor to the Ukraineans .
Independence came only some 350 years later.
Czernowitz paid honor by naming the very jewish
              Dreifaltigkeitsgasse in his name.

             Vulitza Bogdana Khmelnitzkovo.
