I do read Ukrainian and the translation is identical word by word plus the Ukrainian part has the word "year" in the end.
Wouldn't it make sense to ask your local contacts in the Jewish museum to find out this information?
I think the problem with the wording is just plain ignorance in those matters.
Remember that it took many years educating people about Holocaust. In Ponari there is a discrepancy between the Russian and Hebrew and English inscriptions. The Russins text does not mention Jews, only victims.
