When I lived in Israel 2004-7, Lucca would call me, cheer me up, encourage
me, and give me her common sense about Israel and being new there. She had
this quality, so that I always had this feeling for her as a young woman,
or a girl, or teenager or adult,regardless of however old she was at that
time -- her character stayed with me long after I had put down the phone. I
know I am having a loss, because I feel this severing from something
essential. Lucca was a very precious person.
What I hope is that she was kept well-buffered from pain over the last days
and weeks, and that she had time to conclude and express everything she
needed to.
