Two of the comments struck me very forcefully, see below. They ask what
would seem to be very good questions. I wish I understood these comments
better, both the actual text of the comments, and the context. But they
seem to be saying - why is the Jewish community not up in arms about this?
And we do feel very strongly about the Temple. But of course, it would help
if we understood exactly what it is that we should be up in arms about.
In any case, should we not take this as an invitation to participate? It
seems to me that we should do two things.
1. Any list members who have contacts in Chernivtsi could try to find out
what exactly is going on. Mimi? Cornel?
2. We should either individually, or collectively, submit a comment or
comments to this article, giving a Jewish point of view. Hardy, you wrote
very eloquently: "They have done to the Temple what they have done to us
all. Degraded, debased, crippled, abused. For all to see. This makes me
mad." Perhaps you should submit this as a comment. Others of us might have
a different way of expressing our feelings about the Temple; but perhaps now
is a time to make them known.
