Yiddish is a rich language which expresses nuances and aphorisms of Jewish
life and customs, during centuries, which no other language could achieve.
I is a language developed by speakers of the wide range of Jews from highly
intellectuals, international business people, small shop keepers, artisans
and yes, also thieves. The current renaissance of Yiddish by the Ultra
orthodox segment of the Jewish people and in the Universities cannot
restore the vitality of a language spoken by the wide range of Jewish
society during centuries and the influence of different cultures and
languages on the life of the Yiddish Diaspora and its language.
The =E2=80=9Cshaming=E2=80=9D of some Czernowitzer =E2=80=9CDaitschen=E2=80=
=9D of the Yiddish speaking
people was similar to the attitude of the German Jews toward the Ostjuden.
Jewish German intellectuals such as Martin Buber and Franz Rosenzweig,
however, admired their Jewish cultural vitality.
