Hello,
I am new to this group and finding it very interesting. My mother, Ester
Stern or Steren Greenbaum lived in Czernowitz from 1921until she left for
medical school in France. I am looking for any contacts who may have known
about my mother and her friends in Lipcani and Czernowitz.
My mother was a good friend of Emmanuel Hacken and his wife Vera. I
believe that Vera may have grown up in Lipcani with my mother. My mother
graduated from Lycee No.2 in 1927 in Czernowitz and soon after moved to
France for medical school with seven friends from Czernowitz. I believe
most of these women kept in touch throughout their lives. I know the names
of some of her friends, but most are their married names. They are as
follows: Elsa Portal, Lea Beaussier, Fanny Shapira, Cilly Crinetz, Dora
Costa. I am also interested in finding information about: Paula Fay, Suli
Brice, Muti... If anyone has any information about any of these people I
would love to know about it.
Thank you,
Anita Greenbaum-Brush
