German to English translation needed..

Dear Czernowitzers,

Just today a new list member forwarded to me a copy of a 1939
letter typewritten in German by someone I think may be a
relation. If I could get an English translation I would be most
grateful. A scan of the letter is on our website at:

I would also be interested in any hints about tracing the writer
or others mentioned in the letter from the information given.
