Dear Czernowitzers!

Again, I would like to thank all of you who wrote me with great
information about traveling around Ukraine - hotels and distances info
is extremely important and useful to me. I am trying to re-think my
stay so that I fly back to Berlin instead of ground travel, in order to
gain another day or two - everybody is saying I need more time!! will
try to make that happen. Otherwise, I'm already thinking I may need t
plan another trip back.

I've just read the working paper entitled _The Golden Age of the Jews of
Bukoviina 1880 - 1914_, by Fred Stambrook at the University of Manitoba
(2003). It's a great, readable account of a time when my father and his
brothers were growing up in Czernowitz, and it brings those times to

If anyone knows of other papers that are accessible on the internet, I
would be grateful if you could steer me toward them.
