Dear All,

Whether the purpose of a reunion is to get to know each other and spend
some time together,
or to visit the place (places) where either we or our ancestors were
born, Czernowitz, seems to me,
to be the logical place to meet. And if not Czernowitz, then Israel,
where many who belong to this group
and even more Czernowitzers and Bukovinians live.

Vienna is an interesting city, I did enjoy my one time visit there. But
for us to have a reunion there,
would be to say the least, a slap in the face of those of us who
suffered the consequences of German
and Austrian anti-Semitism and those members of our families who lost
their lives because of it.
None of the Jewish Viennese I know (and I know many) who managed to
survive the holocaust
are willing to visit Vienna, they have even not reclaimed their family
properties there.

Furthermore, despite the fact that Czernowitz wanted to be seen as
little Vienna, very few of it's
inhabitants ever set foot there. Many leading people in the arts and
sciences in Vienna were Jewish,
No leading people in Czernowitz or the Bukovina were Viennese.

Please excuse me if I stepped on anyone's toes, I just wanted to let my
opinion be known.
All the best to all of you, Mimi
