Mimi,

To give a fair justice to Vienna, many or most of the greatest artists and
thinkers we are all so proud of not only lived and created in Vienna, but
were also proud to be called Viennese.

I am a Czernowitzer and have worn the yellow star in the ghetto of
Czernowitz in 1942-1943, but know that my parents would have never confused
Vienna with its odious Nazis at that time.

Such stories are sacred: How the emperor Franz Joseph made Gustav Mahler the
director of the Vienna Opera, how empress Elisabeth promoted the poet
Heinrich Heine, all about Freud and countless other, showing the great
spirit of Vienna before the Nazis took over.
