In response to Arthur's letter;

I strongly agree with Arthur's sentiments, Arthur and I were in the same
school and same class in Czernowitz.
Even though we do not remember each other, we are obviously more
interested in visiting this school
than meeting in Vienna. Jerry and I lived in the same house, Arthur
Hecht and I went tobogganing on
the same steep hill and Charles German's family lived on the same street
as my paternal grandparents.

I would like to suggest that those of us who would like to meet in
Czernowitz decide when and for how
long we would like to meet, also wether we want all arrangements for
travel and our stay there to be made
together, or whether we would prefer to make our arrangements individually.

The meeting in Czernowitz can be a continuation of the meeting in Vienna
or completely separate.
Early June or even late May would be a good time to meet in Czernowitz.
I believe that it is possible to fly to Suceava and from there we could
be picked up by a car
or a bus sent from Czernowitz. Possibly by next year, it will be
possible to take a rented car
from Romania to the Ukraine.

I recently returned from a two week stay in Romania , part of it in the
southern Bucovina.
It is beautiful country, there are numerous comfortable hotels and good
restaurants, the people are
friendly and helpful, many of the younger ones speak English.
Therefore those of us wishing to spend some time in this area could
easily and pleasurably do so.

Visiting the former camps in Transnistria should probably be done as an
organized tour from Czernowitz.

All the best, Mimi
