Dear friends,
In response to the latest E-mail notes by Ruth Gold and Cornel:
In my previous E-mail, I had no intention of casting doubts on Luba
German's ability
as a travel agent. I merely thought that those of us who feel the need
for a travel agent
or hope to receive reduced air fair and hotel rates might want to use
either the services
of Luba who is after all one of us, or Marianne Hirsch's cousin who
lives in Czernowitz,
or someone else they have used previously.
Some of us have been to Chernivtsi in recent years and have ties to
local people,
Both translator-guides and hotel personnel.
On the question of a committee:
We will need a committee to coordinate our joint activities in Czernowitz,
by which I mean: social and possibly cultural get-togethers,
visits to buildings and sites which may not be open to the general public,
possibly meetings with the local Jewish inhabitants of Chernivtsi as well
as meetings with local city government officials.
We could elect a committee in a few month from now,
first giving us time to air our ideas ideas and discover what all of us
are interested in.
Best regards, Mimi
