So far, I'm hearing a lot of different views and pieces of
data ... for example, that we mobilize to meet with
officials to be included in restorations scheduled for
2008. That we contact the new cemetery administration.
That we contact a group in NY. That there is work already
underway. That work isn't underway but should be. That we
approach this as an important "historic site" with
memorials and plaques, That one needs to know "certain
people" and understand "certain things" in order to do
anything. That Yuri is ok to deal with. That Yuri is not
ok to deal with - indeed that one would be foolish to deal
with me ...
All to say, I wonder whether we might be able to have a
core group - say 3-4 people - who might be interested to
work together, off-line, and report back to the whole
group, to work on this so we can get our bearings and
develop a game plan. I would be very glad to help with such
an effort. the purpose of the "core" or "task" group might
include, for example:
Explore initiatives currently underway and ascertain their
status/outcomes
Identify the key people we need to be communicating with
Research the 2008 Cz celebration to see whom we should be
in contact with
Develop an overarching plan that we can bring to the list
serv for input and kind of a "next steps" forum.
I think this way, we might be able to get something nailed
down prior to the Reunion in Cz next year that many of you
(I cannot, unfortunately)are attending so you might be able
to take some action, meet with some key folks in Cz, etc.
What do you all think? Anyone want to do this too?
Thanks, as always, for permitting me to share my thoughts,
Nina
