[Cz-L] cemetery

I have been making some progress on publicizing the cemetery project. I have
had several requests to speak about my experience, from three synagogues, my
husband's Rotary club, and my mother's Brandeis University women's group in
New York. The one I have actually booked so far is for February 17th.

What I would like to do is ask for contributions at each presentation toward
a fund to maintain the cemetery. But I don't feel comfortable doing that
unless we actually have a fund established.

I know a couple of folks have mentioned the idea of creating a fund and
having list members contribute. What do people think, and how would we go
about doing that?

I also just wanted to relate that at my niece's bat mitzvah this weekend, I
brought photos from the cemetery as well as copies of the documents I
uncovered in the archives in Czernowitz,with my great grandparents',
grandparents' and aunt's names.

My aunt and uncle, in their late 80's, and in frail health, were really
moved. The cousins of my generation and the next one were also very
interested. So it was a moving experience all around. Family connections - I
increasingly realize how important they are.
