The Holocaust by Bullets is a practice used by the Einsatz Gruppen on most
cases aided by the locals. On smaller scale it was copied by the Romanian
"Jandarms" in the smaller settlements in Bucovina and Bessarabia. In
Czernowitz hundreds of leading figures of the Jewish Community were
assembled on the first days of the occupation, led to the outskirts of the
city and shot in the same way. In the camp of Cariera de Piatra in
Transnistria the inmates of the Jewish "Sichenhaus" from Czernowitz were
exterminated the same way by the Romanians.
