  Your explanation on the interpretation of the term reaches
the limits of my untrained mind.
   That the social status differentiation is related to the Ehpes group
is very flattering.
   A little speculation : If you look at the map you see that the Judengasse
 is a straight line continuation of the Hauptstrasse.
   The later untere Hauptstrasse is a detour to the west ,avoiding the
  Judegasse as a main thoroughfare. There the St.Paraskiva lies.
    Old city maps show the center of town as the Ham , from here
  the main roads are NW - the Lembergerstrasse and East the Russischegasse .
   There was no main throughfare going south.
     No Ringplatz, no Austriaplatz , no Volksgarten , no Herrengasse.
       All this before the Habsburgs.
        The have just climbed the first hill , but were on their way up.
     About social status vs elevation:
      The Prut bed is 160 m. the Austriaplatz 260 m.
      If you draw a line at 220 m through Cz., cutting the Judengasse in
half ,
    all the low income strata lived north and the rich in the south.
      Not only jewish.
       And you didnt need much research for coming to this conclusion .
