Yesterday I had the pleasure of speaking with the father of Stephen Winters;
a man who left Czernowitz 67 years ago and has never been back, yet he
clearly remembered every street and building, spoke German fluently, with
our particular Czernowitz inflection and made me feel as if I had found a
long lost relative.
