I have no knowledge about immigration to Austria except for one statement
from my mother, Esther Stern Greenbaum, who was born in Lipcani, but spent
her adolescence in Czernowitz. She graduated from high school in
Czernowitz in1928. She said that those who were interested in philosophy
went to study in Vienna, and those who were interested in politics went to
study in Paris. She and seven other girl friends went to study medicine in
Paris with stops in Strasbourg and Grenoble along the way.
